For a departing army friend

The sadness of time and growth is this,
that friendships hard won so quickly dismissed
Though timeless fate on us all marked
destiny once alike, too soon grown aparted
Most precious of things are but for free
Yet now free not they come, for in roving, pricks me
Those idle days and such wanton joy
wasteful army days that we enjoy
Vivid memories that still fills my mind
what surreal moments! delicate and fine
This sad dismiss of such innocent times
such is the bitter-sweet nostalga of mine
Beneath shadows of the past, uncertain future turns cold
ourselves in charming cruelty hold
lean not on the past, for these are early days
A man cannot laze content, but must venture on diverging ways
These youthful time will pass but once
live life to its fullest, and to mellisonant music dance

So smile, let not on your day of departure see tears
fall upon this familiar face of those many years
As the plane, like which that you have taken flight
let too your spirit soar, into the horizon, happy and light
Sure as the days and seasons revolves in turns
still it will be that you'll soon return
In happier times will we meet again
present sadness leaves room
for future happiness to gain
